Greetings in Christ! I’m writing this one a couple weeks ahead, as I just walked out of a finance council meeting and have some info to share. Beyond that, I will be away when this will be due: I’ll be on the Good News Cruise Couples Retreat!

So, I just wanted to take a moment to thank you all for your ridiculous generosity in our Christmas season. Our collections were amazing, particularly for the first couple weeks of January! If we keep up this pace, we will be right on track to catch up on so many things: I am grateful!

With that, I wanted to share something that came out of the meeting that blew me away: namely, if everyone who currently gives, adds only $5 a week to their giving, it will make a radical difference in our budget. Not only that, but if those who do not give would commit to $5 a week, that would help even more than I can say. I am asking you to pray and think about it: we really could use your help.

As I hope you remember, we cut a ton from the budget last year and we have stayed faithful to a very frugal, very disciplined budget. A lot of our employees are doing more for less and I am so proud of them. Even with that, the hole we are digging out of still needs our attention and, if you can afford it, we could obviously use any help you can offer. So, thank you so much…you really bless me.

As we begin to plan for next year, there are some changes related to school tuition that we will be communicating. The finance council and I are champions of our school, committed to providing an outstanding, affordable Catholic education for our schoolchildren, both now and in the future. Toward that end, we have scheduled two 30-minute Town Hall Meetings for our School Families. At these meetings, we will be sharing our three-year plan for tuition.

It’s really important that as many families come as can. We scheduled one in the morning and one in the evening to make it as easy as possible to get there. The meetings will be held in the Fr. Bush Parish Center Large Hall. The two times for the meeting are as follows:
Wednesday, February 12th, at 7:55 a.m.
Wednesday, February 12th, at 6:30 p.m.

So, that is it! Thank you for your time and attention and thank you for letting me be your priest.
