Greetings in Christ, all! I hope we are ready to start getting back into the habit of reading the bulletin. I know it’s been over a year and as much as we try to get info to everyone, it’s tough without the bulletin. If you are reading this during my homily, I have no problem with that and, in fact, I salute your good judgment! Ha ha. All kidding aside, if you could please be sure to share the info you read here with others, that would be super helpful.

Now…on to the main thing: I have some big news for us all…We are in a pretty momentous year. We are emerging from the Quarantine and find ourselves in a new Church with a lot of new members and, hopefully, a greater appreciation for community and faith. Besides all of this, we are celebrating our 75th anniversary as a parish this year!

One of the big joys we experienced two years ago was participating with the City in its annual festival and, as a parish, we’ve been waiting for word as to whether they are going to have it again.

Recently, we found out that The Grand Blanc Chamber of Commerce is going to press forward with the festival this year and I could not be more excited. It is my fervent and prayerful wish that Holy Family embraces this as an opportunity to celebrate Joy and Hope.

Right now, while our country is in such a fearful, angry and divisive state, I would like us to open our grounds to the community and celebrate together, eat together, laugh together and re-enter the world with His Light.

The festival is going to be June 11th and 12th and we are going to participate in similar fashion as we did two years ago: food and song and all kinds of happiness. I am writing this so that you can put it in your calendar. I am asking you to consider making it a priority and, if you are able, to volunteer when we start asking. The most important thing to me is that we come together and shake off the fear and darkness, embracing our community with love and joy.

So…write those dates down and get ready for some fun!
