Greetings in Christ, all! Happy Easter!

This Wednesday at 6 pm, we will be celebrating our First Communion Mass! We are so excited for all of our little wonderfuls who will be there with their families, receiving their first communion. Please come celebrate with us, share their joy as they take their next steps toward becoming Saints!

For the families of our First Communicants, please make sure that your kids come with you to your next usual weekend Mass, all dressed up in their First Communion clothes. This will allow us to see and congratulate them.

To our First Communion parents, thank you so much for your yes to God in ensuring that your kids receive the amazing gift of Jesus in the Eucharist.

Sidenote: Because of this Mass, we will not be offering our usual Wednesday confessions.

Next weekend, you will see something rare and amazing, and I’d like to tell you about this as well…

Andy Cocagne is one of the members of our parish family, and on May 17th he will be ordained a permanent Deacon. This is a result of him answering God’s call and preparing over the last many years. We are so excited about this! At the 10 am Mass next week, we will have a small ritual where we prayerfully and joyfully send him off for his ordination weekend. Please pray for Andy and his wonderful wife, Dr. Carole and their kids.

Little tidbit here: there are, in the Church, two types of deacons: Transitional Deacons and Permanent Deacons. A transitional deacon is a young man who is ordained a deacon, knowing that he is going to be ordained a priest within a year. A permanent deacon is…well, permanent! They do not intend to become priests, but to serve as a deacon for the rest of their lives.

Beyond that, our new building is progressing nicely; it feels like we are in the homestretch! Please pray for our efforts, pray that Jesus blesses and protects the hardworking men over there, and that we get into our new building quickly.

That’s all for this week, folks. Thanks so much for letting me be your priest…I am grateful.
