Greetings in Christ everyone!

In a special way, I want to thank Jesus for all of the moms in our congregation. I am grateful to God for all of your million sacrifices that go unseen by everyone but the Lord. I pray that today, in a special way, the Lord renews the joy of motherhood for you.

I pray also for those who long to be mothers. I pray that the Lord give you the strength and grace necessary to live your vocation well. I pray that the Lord fulfills the desires of your heart.

I also pray for all of those who await seeing their mother again in heaven. May we wait with hope!

I hope you don’t mind, but I would like to continue to push DSA participation. It’s literally true that if everyone would pledge something, we would easily hit our goal. Please, please consider going to the following web address: https://www.dioceseoflansing.org/appeal

There, join me in committing to a monthly payment. It doesn’t have to be huge, you can set the amount as little as $5 or $10 a month. Either way, the more of us we can get on board for participation, the easier our goal is to attain. I’d really love to see each of us get after this in some way.

Our goal is 70% participation; we are currently at 10% so we have some work to do.

And to the person who returned their DSA envelope with a rock inside of it, you forgot to put your name on the envelope. Please know I will be praying for you.

I want to close out by reminding you of our upcoming auction. On May 21st we will be hosting a really fun night of fellowship and fundraising for our school. You can get the information at hfsgb.org.

Every year we work to find ways to address the significant gap between what we charge for tuition and what it actually costs us to educate the kids. This auction is our attempt to fill that gap and, honestly, I think it’s a lot of fun, besides everything else. If you can help us support this event, we welcome and appreciate your help.

If nothing else, please consider participating in the auction simply by attending: there will be great food, some fun entertainment and a lot of love in the room.

I want to make sure to thank you all for letting me be your priest. Our parish and school are doing so well right now, it’s actually quite unbelievable. So many of the good things happening are because you guys are clearly inviting other people back to church, sacrificing to keep our parish strong, and praying for us priests. I promise you, I don’t take any of that for granted.

I believe I am incredibly blessed to be your priest.
