Seventy-one middle and high school students and a team of volunteers spent the week of July 13 serving others. Following is a list of what we did:

*Rebuilt a playground at the Autism Center.
*Served at Catholic Charities in the two soup kitchens, community closet and at the day camp.
*Cleaned at St. Michael’s and St. John Vianney.
*Spent a day visiting residents at American House.
*Worked at the Whaley Center – painting / gardening.
*Worked at a few parishioners’ homes.
*Built a brick paver patio at Holy Family (lower parking lot) for all to enjoy.
*Landscaped Sr. Sharon’s front yard.
*Served at a funeral lunch.
*Worked in the parish office.

We began our day at 8 a.m. and worked from 9 – 3. We returned to the Fr. Bush Center for a full slate of evening activities that included team-building games, paint and pray, rosary making, Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, Reconciliation, food and fellowship. We also enjoyed a “Funday Friday” at Waterford Oaks Waterpark.
We feel so blessed to be able to be the hands and feet of Christ in our community and received more than we gave! We are thankful to Holy Family Parish for supporting us in prayer and our fund-raising activities. With your support we were able to pay for the playground and the brick paver patio.

Thanks to our priests and deacon who visited us at every worksite and to our parish staff who welcomed us to work in the office. Thanks also to our Knights of Columbus who provided us with a wonderful dinner on Thursday evening. They also donated $500 to help with the playground project. We are looking forward to Mission Makeover 2016 Edition!
