Greetings in Christ, all! I got hit pretty hard with the allergies this week, I think. No fever or anything, but an absolute meltdown of my sinuses and I lost my ability to speak for a bit. I’m just assuming that is an answer to at least some of your prayers (haha). Anyway, it’s no big deal. I get hit with this twice a year and it knocks me down for a few days, but I always get over it pretty quickly. Thanks for your love and understanding.

I wanted to take a moment and update you on the DSA. A big thanks to all…we are at 52% of our goal and that is the best we’ve done in some time. I am so grateful to you all. For those who have not contributed, I am asking you to do so. I’d love for us to be able to help our diocese as she helps the poor and needy among us. We have been so blessed by our diocese during our construction process and I feel a very loving and very large debt to them. You can give online (just don’t forget to check that your are members of Holy Family) or you can use the envelopes we have scattered about the Church.

I am just loving our Marian Side Altar at the Church and I hope you are too. This lovely altar comes to us from St. Casimir in Lansing after it closed. The Diocese helped us pay for the cost of moving and installing it, praise God. If you’d like to offer prayers there, please do! Remember it is a sacred place; not a place for us to set stuff down as if it’s a table. There are some nice vigil lights there where you may pray whatever way you want.

I’m extremely excited to let you know that in the near future we will add another devotional area in our Church that will hold first-class relics of some amazing saints. I simply can’t believe this happened, but we are now in possession of five First-Class Relics of the following saints:

-St. Jude, the Apostle; patron saint of impossible causes
-St. Francis of Assisi
-St. Peregrine, the patron saint of those afflicted with cancer
-St. Gerard Magellan, the patron saint of expectant mothers and
-St. Anthony of Padua, patron saint of lost articles and of preachers.

Family, this is a rare and amazing thing and we will set up an area for prayer and contemplation with these relics. I can’t tell you how excited I am for our parish to have these. We have the certification from Rome that these are authentic and we have permission to set up this area to pray. I’ll keep you updated on this as we get close to installation.

Well, lots of info today, please make sure to share this with people who may not be coming to Church right now.

God bless you all. I thank God for you!
