Lots to run by you this week. Let’s start with two huge joyful things.

First, our First Communion celebrations are coming up! On May 4th at 4 pm and May 5th at Noon, we will be celebrating first communions with our little ones. Jesus, bless their hearts. Please keep these wonderful kids and their families in your prayers as they prepare and receive the Blessed Sacrament.

Second, on May 1st, we celebrate the Feast of St. Peregrine. St. Peregrine is one of the saints whose relic we are blessed to have in the church. He is the patron saint of those who suffer from cancer. You should see a large article about him in this bulletin (on page 7). We will place his relic on the altar for our 8 am and 6 pm Mass on that day and, after Mass, if you wish, we invite you to come forward and be blessed with it.

A note about our confession lines…

I’m so blessed with how many of you go to confession. It’s one of the highlights of my week. I do want to ask us to be conscious of making sure that the line for the confessional does not creep too close to the confessional. Just something to keep in mind.

Finally, I need to ask for your forgiveness.

After Christmas, I prepared my thank you notes for the many wonderful blessings I received and then I checked it off my “to-do” list before I sent them. I realized about a week or two ago that I messed this up and I feel terribly guilty about it. I reworked all the cards because some of what I wrote to some of you was about the “New Year”…ugh. So, those should be going out soon and I ask you to forgive me for not getting them to you in a time frame that reflects how grateful I am and was. Thank you for your mercy.

Thank you for letting me serve as your priest. I am so grateful to God for you all.
