Greetings in Christ, all! What a wonderful summertime this is…although I do love winter, I’m always up for sunshine.

A reminder that Holy Family Parish Offices are closed on August 22nd / 23rd because so many people will be traveling to Kansas to see Bishop-Elect Jerry’s ordination. If you are not going, but want to prayerfully support Bishop Vincke, I would suggest lighting a candle and putting it in a prominent place in your home. Every time you see it, you can say a prayer for him and for the people of his diocese. I did this for the kids from St. Mark when they went on their mission trip a couple weeks ago and I felt it a great way to feel and be connected to them.

I have noticed a wonderful “problem” with confessions… we simply don’t have enough times marked out to meet the needs. I can’t tell you how happy this makes me, but it is a problem that we need to solve. Fr. Dan and I are meeting and talking about how best to adjust the schedule in order to offer more times and we will get that to you as soon as we figure it out.

I want to close by letting you know about a fairly big thing coming up in my schedule. Last year I received a call from the Diocese of Marquette. They asked me to run their Priest Convocation this year and I agreed to. I can’t believe we are already creeping up on September, but we are!

The convocation is September 10-13. As it turns out, it’s a six-hour drive up there…good Lord! So, I will leave on Sunday, September 9th, after my last Mass and return on Friday morning, September 14th.

It really was/is quite an honor for me to do this, but I am absolutely terrified! Please pray for me during that time that I will be faithful, loving, holy and wise as I lead the Convocation with the Theme ‘”Be Holy as I am Holy’ says the Lord.” Pray especially for the priests of the Diocese of Marquette who are stretched out over a vast territory and cover multiple parishes.

So…that’s it! I hope and pray you are well.

I am grateful to God for the gift of you!
