Greetings in Christ, all!

The school year has started here at Holy Family! On Wednesday, I was so blessed to pray with all our kids. My heart is just filled with joy whenever the whole school community comes together and prays. Thank you with all my heart for the blessings of your generosity which makes our school possible.

Please hold our school in your prayers; our teachers, staff, faculty, kids, parents…the whole banana!

Last weekend, you may remember I was in the Diocese of Winona/Rochester in Minnesota. I was really touched to be invited by Bishop Barron to give some talks to his tribe. I got to meet him briefly, and while we were chatting, a ton of people were taking pictures of him. I told him, “Sorry about all the photographers  This happens to me wherever I go.” That really made him laugh.

All my travels went well and I’m so glad to be home.

As a note, we have three great saints this week that we celebrate: St. Monica on Wednesday and St. Augustine on Thursday. St. Monica prayed for her son Augustine faithfully; he was a bit of a moral terror. Her prayers and her faithfulness won him over to Christ and he became one of the intellectual giants in our Church. Last I knew, St. Augustine is quoted more than any other saint in our Catechism. On Friday, we remember the passion of St. John the Baptist, whom Jesus called one of the greatest men born of a woman. St. John stood for truth and righteousness at terrible cost and we are so grateful for that wild, holy man.

We’re so blessed to have all these saints who pray for us and show us how it is done.

I love you all.  I can’t believe I get to be your priest.
