Greetings in Christ!
This bulletin will serve two purposes: our bulletin for the 4th Sunday of Advent and for Christmas Itself.
We’re all so terribly busy…it’s heartbreaking, I know. Our technological advances have only served to add to the amount of things people expect of us, instead of freeing us. This season seems to be one of those times where a lot of us feel a lot of pressure; pressure to be a certain way, to do certain things and to get it all right.
As you read this, let Jesus free you. He did not come to save you for what you can accomplish, but for who you are and what He sees when He looks at you. You are so very safe in that love. Rest in it.
As for Christmas gifts; you are God’s gift to me and I am so grateful. Not one day passes here where I do not thank Jesus for bringing me to this loving, giving and caring community. I am eternally grateful.
Next Sunday (December 28 and 29), is our Patronal Feast: The Feast of the Holy Family. Please make sure you all get to Mass so we can pray together and thank Jesus for our parish community.
Next Sunday will probably be my last big push on the Saints and Scholars Campaign. It is my sincerest hope that anyone who has not pledged or donated will do so after next week so that we can wrap this puppy up and move on with the work that this campaign is going to fund. We’ll have pledge cards and a short speech during each Mass encouraging everyone to help. Thanks for your generous response so far, the money we are raising will help our teachers, our Catholic school families and our aid to the poor and needy in our community.
May Jesus bless you and yours with love, joy and peace during this holy season.
You are God’s gift to a broken world and to my heart.
