Greetings in Christ, all!
This weekend, we celebrate the Feast of Pentecost. It’s basically a birthday celebration for the Church. This is when the Holy Spirit came down upon the Apostles and allowed them to be brave and share the Word of God with every one. Each of us is here because of that moment, a moment for which we should be very grateful.
I want to let you know how very blessed I feel to be your priest. Every once in a while, I actually pause and ask if I’ve made clear to you how much I love serving here. This is a good, active, joyful parish that strives to love God, be holy and serve the poor and vulnerable. With all my heart, thank you for letting me into this family.
I’m excited about our parish festival and again, can’t encourage you strongly enough to come out and join in the fun.
As I stated last week, we are kicking off Summer Fest ’22 with Trivia Night on Thursday, June 16 at the Fr. Bush Hall. Bill Harris and I will be hosting the event and it’s going to be fun. Please consider putting a team together and joining in. You can register at: www.hfgb.org.
This week, I’ll be gone on Wednesday for most of the day offering a retreat for the faculty and staff of Fr. Gabriel Richard school in Ann Arbor. Please pray that God helps me be faithful and do a good job for them.
On Friday, the school year ended here at Holy Family. It’s my third school year with you all and I am just so grateful for our kids, their parents, our teachers, faculty and staff. There is so much love there and a growing faith, I feel very blessed to be a part of it all. Make sure and pray for those who work at the school that they will be able to rest and rebuild over the next month and a half.
That’s it for this week…God bless you all and fill you with His Joy.
