As you hopefully see, we have our State of the Finance handout in the bulletin this week.
It is very important to me that you read this. See how we are doing and what we are doing with the money you entrust to us.
Hopefully, you noted that we significantly cut costs here at Holy Family Church and School. By being more prudent and disciplined and listening to the sage advice of our Finance Council, we have made a big difference in our budget. Your response has been a blessing; Sunday collections are up: thank you!
A couple notes: one of our biggest financial challenges at this time is the school. By offering such a low tuition, we are setting up a gap of almost $3,000 between what we charge for tuition and what it actually costs to educate a child. It has been our hope that our parents who have kids in the school would contribute to the Sunday collection in such a way as to help offset the gap. If we cannot find a way to make up more of this gap than we currently do, we will simply have to raise tuition significantly.
If you are not currently doing so, I urge you to consider a weekly donation that reflects your desire to contribute to this community and help us in our mission. Remember, while tuition is not tax deductible, money you give in the collection is.
I imagine you hate it when I talk about money and I promise you I hate it as well. We have been entrusted with rebuilding, not only our Church building, but the finances of our entire Catholic community here in Grand Blanc. It’s a mighty challenge that we have been given but we are meeting that challenge step by step, thanks to you.
May God bless our efforts to meet His call to transform the world!
