Greetings in Christ!
I can’t believe I am going to type this, but Advent starts in one week…wow! Advent is the season where we do two things: First, to prepare to celebrate the birth of Our Lord and second to prepare our souls for His Second Coming. It’s a blessed season that often gets lost in the chaos we find ourselves thrown into; the chaos of holiday prep and Christmas buying. Maybe we could all make a commitment to remind ourselves each day of Advent that it is Advent and ask ourselves, “What am I doing to prepare for the second coming?”
The Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary is coming up! On December 9th, we will offer as many Masses as possible in order to help everyone fulfill their obligation to go to Mass on that day. Let’s be sure we don’t pass this one up. We’ll pray Masses at 6:30am, 8:00am and 6:00pm. THREE MASSES! Please make sure and get to one.
Thanksgiving is this week. I’ll be hosting my family and I’m pretty excited about this. Pray I don’t ruin the turkey…haha
Final note, please consider making a pledge or a donation to the Saints and Scholars campaign. If you don’t traditionally give and are able to, this is a great way to jump in the fight. We have a goal of $3,000,000. If we hit that, one million will come back to us for all the work we need to do. Any amount we go over comes here as well and we need a lot of help. If you can, just hold your camera over the
image below this article and it will take you to the place where you can pledge. If you prefer to do it by paper, we’ll have some cards for you to fill out.
Thank you all so much. I thank God every day that I get to be your priest.
