Greetings in Christ, all:

I am writing and submitting this article on Wednesday and anticipating that on Friday, August 30, I will have surgery on my knee. They plan to clean out bone spurs and calcium deposits, reattach some things and I hope to be back in the fight as soon as possible.

This will undoubtedly affect our Mass schedule and my scheduled events for the next week. Please forgive me for any inconvenience this may cause. I will make every attempt to keep you all updated.

And most importantly, thank you for all your prayers. I am really grateful.

Now, on to joyful news: on Tuesday of this week Mrs. Cindy Brendel will begin her time as principal of our beloved school. I feel so incredibly blessed by the people and process that brought us to this decision. God blessed us with many exceptional candidates, but even with that it seemed very clear to us who the Lord wanted here. As for administrative experience, she certainly is qualified. But, perhaps even more importantly, she is a true lover of Christ and a faithful member of Our Holy Family.

Please keep in mind it will take a bit for her to settle in. Let’s be sure that we show the patience, love, and mercy we would want to receive if we were in her position.

Please keep Cindy and our school, students, and families in your prayers.

I am incredibly grateful to be your priest,
