Greetings from Green Bay, Wisconsin!
I am here conducting the Priest Convocation for the diocese of Marquette. This is a really amazing group of men who carry a LOT of parishes and do a lot of driving for the Kingdom of God. I’m so blessed to meet them.
Among the 50 or so priests here, I have spoken to a number from other countries. The US may have a priesthood crisis, but some other countries do not seem to and I am so very grateful to God for these men who leave their families and countries to come here and serve so that we can receive the Eucharist. I know that for me, I thank God everyday for Fr. Le whom I know misses his family and home, but is filled with joy to help us out. Jesus, bless that wonderful man.
Next week, Fr. Le and I will both be gone to the priest convocation for our own diocese. These are nice days together, where we hear some good talks, get some great prayer times in and have a couple afternoons free to enjoy each other’s company or just get some rest. Please pray for us.
As we announced at Masses last week, our Parish Community is deeply grieved at the death of Shelley Corcoran. For those who do not know her, she gave so much to us…she was so generous with her time, her talent and her treasure. She greeted our kids at the doors every day and was, for many, a sort of anchor in the chaos and demands of life. This is a big loss for all of us.
I want to take this time to thank her family for sharing her so generously with us. I promise you we will not forget her, nor will we forget to pray for you during this time.
Every day I thank God that I get to be your priest. Thank you for your love for God, each other and our community.
