New This Year: Family Formation at Church of the Holy Family

We’re excited to announce a brand-new approach to Religious Education for the 2025–2026 year: Family Formation — a model that nurtures the whole family in the Catholic faith.

What is Family Formation?

Family Formation is a parish-based religious education model where parents and children learn, grow, and experience faith together. Rooted in the Catechism of the Catholic Church, this five-year cycle ensures a comprehensive formation in the faith.

Who Can Participate?

  • Grades 1 – 5: Parents/guardians and children attend together

  • Grades 6 – 8: Students attend independently in a youth group format (parents welcome to join)

What to Expect:

  • When: Two Sundays each month | 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM

  • Where: St. Joseph Center & Holy Family School classrooms

  • Structure:

    • Large Group Activity: Parents & children together

    • Breakouts: Parents receive catechesis while children attend age-level classes

    • Closing: Whole group prayer and fellowship

Sacramental Preparation for First Reconciliation and First Communion is included in Family Formation and will be introduced in the 2nd-grade sessions. The Parent meeting for these Sacraments will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, following the 6:00 pm Mass. 

Confirmation Preparation is not included in Family Formation. Students seeking Confirmation are invited to attend the Confirmation Parent/Student meeting on September 10, 2025, following the 6:00 pm Mass. Students in Confirmation Preparation are not required to enroll or participate in Family Formation.

Cost & Registration:

  • $125 per family if registered by Sept 1, 2025

  • $150 late registration

  • Fees include: all materials, snacks, beverages, and sacramental preparation

What is Family Formation?

Do I need teaching experience to volunteer?

Not at all! We will provide training, coaching, and materials. Whether you guide a group or assist behind the scenes, your “yes” makes a difference.

Saturday – 8:00 a.m. and vigil at 5 p.m.

Sunday – 8 a.m., 10 a.m., 12 p.m. and seasonal evening Mass:

7 p.m. Memorial Day weekend in May to Labor Day weekend in September

5 p.m. after Labor Day to the weekend before Memorial Day weekend
