Please participate: This weekend is Participation Weekend for our Witness to Hope Capital Campaign. We are asking parishioners who have not made a pledge to drop off their pledge envelopes in the second collection (during the purifying of the vessels after Holy Communion). As of today (November 9), total pledges are $1,377,000 from 120 parishioners for an average gift of $11,400. We are all very grateful for your kindness and generosity. Thank you for giving to our parish family.
President elect: Please pray for President-elect Trump that he may be filled with wisdom from on high and that he makes decisions following the Spirit of the Lord.
Good advice: Quoting Carl Anderson, the supreme Knight of the Knights of Columbus, “Whoever was elected, it is the time for Catholics to step up and more fully exercise their responsibilities as citizens for the common good.” He quoted Pope Francis that we are called to “live more fully by the criteria that the Lord commands rather than by the criteria of the world.”
Messiah Concert: Next Sunday, November 20, the Grand Blanc Arts Council is sponsoring a Handel’s Messiah concert at our Church at 4 p.m. It’s a free concert. Our own Dr. Simon Lee will be conducting the choir. I have heard them practice in our Church and it’s really inspiring. Looking forward to it, and I hope to see you there.
Viva Christo Rey: Next Sunday, November 20, is the last Sunday in Ordinary Time, the closing of the Year of Mercy and the Feast of Christ the King. It is He whom we place all our hope and faith. During the Masses we are asking God’s pardon for our sins, commending them to His mercy.
CRHP: The men’s Christ Renews His Parish (CRHP) had a wonderful spirit to it last weekend. Thank you to all who participated.
FORMED.org: I have been giving talks to the second-grade parents on the Eucharist and Reconciliation. Most of my talks have been taken from information found on FORMED.org. If you haven’t signed up for FORMED.org, please do so. There is so much valuable information found there. Please visit our website to sign up.
Bar Louie Fundraiser: On Saturday, November 19, Bar Louie at the Genesee Valley Center is giving our school Parent Teacher Organization 20% of their sales that day. Please stop by if you are able.
Wedding bells: Congratulations to our youth minister, Jennifer Giddings, and her fiance’ Kevin Essenmacher, who are getting married on Saturday, November 19.

Saint quote of the week: As we reach the end of the liturgical year, it’s a reminder about reaching the end of our life as well. After visiting a cemetery, St. Elizabeth of Hungary replied to people accompanying her: “Remember that we too shall one day be but dust. Here lie the bones of the dead; these people were once living like us, and are now dead as we shall be; that is why we must love God.”
