Dear Sisters and Brothers,
I want to share with you a few things happening in our parish.
First, this Lent we, the parish staff, decided to do something together. Inspired by Proverbs 3:5-6, we are trying to seek God’s guidance and wisdom before we meet or decide anything, even if it’s just two of us. This means we will work on pausing, even for a few seconds, and directly asking God to help us know and do his will. We are also praying together a prayer to Divine Mercy at 3:00 PM each day, at least those of us who can gather at that time. May you be inspired with your friends and especially as a family, to look for ways to appropriately live the season of Lent together.
Second, we have begun our search for our next principal. I, and our parish, need your help. Please go check out my separate article (click here) on where this process is at and how you can help.
Third, as Fr. Gary and I announced last weekend, I have received my next assignment. On July 1, I will be starting as the pastor at St. Mary’s in Durand and St. Joseph’s in Gaines. I will still be under the protection and guidance of the Holy Family (something that began even before I got here), so yet again, I see God’s hand at work in our lives. I am grateful that God sent me to you and I hope you know of my love for you all. Please keep Msgr. Jerry Vincke, me and our parishes in your prayers as we continue to do God’s will in this time of transition.
Finally, Are You Looking For More? Wherever you are in your life, I believe that God is inviting us to more. In particular, I believe God is calling us to a greater share in His own fire, power, life and zeal––to more of His Holy Spirit and love. So if you are looking for more in your life, I want to invite you to come to six evenings that Fr. Gary and I will be leading in April and May. Mark your calendars now for Wednesday nights from April 22 – May 27 (6:30 – 8:45 PM). These evenings will not be just talks but an opportunity to meet the living God, to open our hearts in new ways to His Presence, and to Live by the Power of the Holy Spirit. Come!
May God bless you and your family abundantly this week.
Fr. Jonathan
