Greetings in Christ!

I have a lot of updates for you all and it’s my intent to use the bulletin to catch you up on these things. Please share this information with folks that maybe couldn’t get to Mass if you would.

The first thing is I’d like to talk about our property a bit, as well as our care for the poor. In the past, I presented you a plan about Fr Le and I moving out of the rectory to make room for moving the Outreach program there. In the end, we simply couldn’t afford to effect the changes necessary for that move to happen, so we had to change things up.

So, with that, here’s what you’ll see happening on our grounds over the next year:

First, we are going to build a structure on our property on the north side of Orchard Street across from the school. This new building will have an office, storage and other areas necessary to operate Outreach. It will also feature a garage where we can store all of our tools and machines for maintenance, as well as a maintenance office. Finally, this new building will be a place where we can store things that, well, need storing!

Once that is finished, we will tear down the house where Outreach currently operates, as well as the numerous garages and sheds in that area. We will also tear down the house that is in the south/west corner of our property. In the place where we will tear down that house, we will build a pavilion and plant fruit trees, which will allow us to offer fresh fruit to people in need.

Finally, we will rebuild the fence on the north side of our property.

All of these things will help us to focus our mission in caring for those in need, as well as stay faithful to agreements made to the city some time ago.

We are struggling to find work crews to take on these projects and are continuing to work through the labyrinth of rules and regulations guiding the city of Grand Blanc to get these things going.

I’m quite excited about all of these things and hope you are too!

As a Parish Family, I just love how we respond to Jesus’ call to care for those who are in need. It moves me how many thank you letters I sign for people giving to Outreach. This work we are doing over the next year will be a monster blessing for our mission to serve people through Outreach with a good facility and the additional space we have needed. It will be a blessing to us as our grounds look better, we gain parking and set up our next generation to take the torch from us in loving and caring for the vulnerable and those who are in need.

God bless you all!
