What is evangelization?

The proclamation of Christ and His Gospel by word and the testimony of life, in fulfillment of Christ’s command (glossary CCC).

To evangelize means you have Jesus in your heart, and then you carry Him to the heart of others.”
St. Teresa of Calcutta

What is the New Evangelization?

New Evangelization refers to the pastoral outreach to those who no longer practice the Christian faith. It is not a new message, the message is always Jesus. It is the same message with new ardor, methods, and expressions. It is new in direction. It is directed not just at non-Christians in mission territories; but to a large number of baptized Christians who don’t live as disciples of Jesus. It is also new in who is expected to evangelize – not just priests but all who are baptized. This means we need to teach our parishioners how to evangelize.
