Let’s start by talking about the Giving Tree.

Every year a trusted agency gives us tags to put on a tree in the gathering area. Each tag contains a name and a Christmas gift idea/recommendation. The goal is for us to take a tag and buy a present for that underprivileged child so that they can have a nice present.

Last week we put our tree up and you all stripped that thing bare! Praise God for you.

Early last week we received a call from the folks who gave us tags for the tree and they let us know that some of the other Churches in our area were unable to fulfill all their tags. What that means is that left 150 kids who would not receive a Christmas gift.

I hope you don’t mind, but I asked them to give them to us to see what we can do. So, our tree is full again. If you are able to help or to help more, please don’t hesitate to do so.

I’m so touched by your care for those in need. Thank you for the honor of being a priest for people like you.

This week we celebrate a Holy Day of Obligation!

On December 8th, we celebrate the Feast of Our Lady’s Immaculate Conception. We will pray Mass together December 7th at 6 pm and December 8th at 8 am. Please make sure to honor your baptismal promises by coming to one of those Masses and bringing your family with you.

This weekend, we commence our Advent Season. This is a season of Hope when we prepare for the Second Coming of Jesus, as well as celebrate His first.  May God bless our Advent Season and help us to focus on Him and His Return in glory.

He loves us. That makes us the most blessed creatures in the Universe.
