Greetings in Christ, all!

Lots of good news to share, starting with our home demolitions. Fonson Company, the construction company that did the demolition to the houses on Orchard Street, absolutely went to war for us and it was beautiful. They were extremely generous, donating the work they did. That would be amazing enough, but they went beyond that and, when all the houses were done, they leveled the ground, preparing the way for the day when we extend our parking lot. There were actually guys out there pulling roots out with their hands…I just can’t believe it. God bless them! Please make sure to pray for Peter Scodeller, who owns the company; Brendan Fons, who managed the project; and pray for their amazing crew.

FLU UPDATE:
Hey guys, flu season is in full swing and, as I can tell you from personal experience, this one can be nasty. As a result, we’re going to adjust a couple things in our Liturgy and I wanted to be sure to give you the heads up.

First, we are going to forgo receiving the Precious Blood at Mass. We’ll probably do this anytime the flu season pops up.

Second, we are going to forgo the Sign of Peace. Basically, after I say “The Peace of the Lord be with you always” and you respond “And with your spirit,” we will move right into the Lamb of God.

Please be conscious of our physical contact with each other as much as you wish: try to avoid feeling offense if someone doesn’t seem to respond to you initiating contact…we just need be smart is all.
