Hospitality: Thank you to all of you who attended my welcome reception on July 1st. It was great to meet many of you there and last weekend before and after all the Masses. I am very happy to be here!

New Crucifix: A few months ago I received an email from Fr. Gary that the parish would like to purchase a new processional crucifix for our Sunday Liturgies. We will begin using the new crucifix starting this weekend. Please read Fr. Gary’s column in this weekend’s bulletin for a further explanation.

Summer Hours: Beginning July 13th we will have new summer hours. The parish office will be open from
9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. It is closed noon to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday through Friday. We will resume the normal office hours of 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on September 1st.

Fr. Swiat: As I mentioned in my homily last weekend, I had a very nice conversation with Fr. Swiat. He is doing quite well and obviously has much affection for all of you.

Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS): Last weekend I talked about the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to redefine marriage. It’s not an easy topic to talk about, but it’s also needed when we are bombarded with the views of those who oppose the Church’s beautiful message on marriage between one man and one woman. Please go to our website for the Michigan Catholic Bishops statement on the decision.

Small world: One of our morning sacristans is Don Sienko. He mentioned to me that he graduated from Holy Rosary High School in Saginaw. I told him that my mom did also. Come to find out, Don’s aunt was married to my mom’s uncle. Any other Holy Rosary in Saginaw grads out there?

Monsignor Title: Regarding the title of Monsignor, it is certainly something that I didn’t expect or want when the bishop told me several years ago when I was named. A lot of people like to call me Monsignor and they feel I should go by that title. However, I don’t mind if you call me Father if that is what you prefer.

Please know of my prayers for you. Have a blessed week.

Msgr. Vincke
