Happy Easter! Jesus Christ is truly risen from the dead! We who love Him and live with Him know that when we die, we rise with Him! This holy season is the reason we dare to hope.

This Lenten season, we gave it our all. We celebrated over 100 hours of confession, we prayed and sacrificed, we gave up some things and embraced some things. All because Jesus is worth it and the pursuit of holiness makes us better people. Now we celebrate all the victories Christ was able to do in us, through us and because of us.

It is often during this beautiful season that some come to pray whom we are not usually blessed to pray with; you are more than welcome here! We love you and are grateful for any time that we all get to stand together, worship God, love Him and be loved by Him.

This wonderful season will last for the next seven weeks and conclude with a series of weekends where we rejoice in the greatest gifts of our God: Eucharist, the holy Trinity, etc. I love this time of year and I am so glad that it has finally arrived.

I will be heading out Easter Sunday for a few days, returning either Wednesday or Thursday. I’ll be taking this time to get some rest. While I’m gone, I will pray for you all every day; thankful that I have the privilege and joy of being your priest.

I do have some business to take care of before I wrap up this article; I want to be sure to invite everyone to please come to our annual school auction on May 21 this year. All proceeds go to benefit our school. The tickets are on sale now, you can purchase them at hfsgb.org.

Thank you all so very much for the ways you contribute physically, spiritually, emotionally and financially to our parish. I cannot thank you enough.
