Evangelization Commission

Mission Statement

Do the work of an evangelist; carry out your ministry fully.”
2 Timothy: 5

The role of the Evangelization Commission is to increase awareness of, and need for, evangelization of all members of the community, and to invite, welcome and engage all in the activities, liturgies and ministries of the parish. It is our desire to share our faith, teach the gospel, enhance participation, and encourage our entire Catholic and non-Catholic community to join us in worship.

Vision Statement

To bring about in all Catholics such an enthusiasm for their faith that, in living their faith in Jesus, they freely share it with others.

Meetings

The Evangelization Commission meets the third Tuesday of the month from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., August through May, in the teacher’s lounge in the school.

To evangelize means you have Jesus in your heart, and then you carry Him to the heart of others.”
Blessed Teresa of Calcutta

The objective of the Evangelization Commission is to equip and engage all parishioners to respond to the grace and promptings of God working in their hearts. This year a special emphasis will be on “Equipping the Household of Faith for a New Evangelization” in conjunction with Bishop Boyea’s Pastoral Letter and the Diocesan Synod to be held in November.

During monthly meetings, commission members will discuss and carry out plans for total evangelization. This means leading people along a path from initial trust to Spiritual curiosity to Spiritual openness to Spiritual seeking to Intentional Discipleship in Jesus Christ. Your commitment as a commission member is to participate in the once-a-month meeting and assist at Evangelization events.
